Ever notice how you need a vacation from your vacation? We had an absolutely wonderful time on our vacation, but I have been soooo lazy, I am just now putting the pics up here.
We left out late Friday morning to get to Grapevine. We were all very excited about the arrival, but not necessarily the four and a half hour trip to get there!
We arrived at the lodge, which is huge! So much to do, it is almost overwhelming. We wanted to go everywhere at once! There are kids running around doing a wizard quest (I really, really wanted to do that--way more than my kids wanted to do it!). Then there are the water activities. And so many other things. We started with checking out the room first.
Jocelyne checked out the view we had of the outdoor pool.
Jax found time to play with cars.

We unwound from the car ride.
The kids had their own little nook with bunk beds and tv.We went to the indoor pool area and slid down slides, swam the lazy river, rode waves in the wave pool and just had a good time. We cleaned up and went to dinner at an authentic Mexican restaurant down the street while we were waiting for our friends to arrive. The restaurant food was ok, but they gave out free beer and had a mariachi band playing so this made Kevin's top 3 activities of the weekend. We got back to the resort after the story time, but just in time to greet the Gallandar family and show them around. We played in the arcade and called it a night early so we could be up and ready to swim the next day.
Saturday, we dressed to swim and met the Gallandars downstairs in the indoor swim area. Jocelyne was excited to show off her favorite spots-the lazy river and wave pool. Jaxon liked the climbing area and slides. We played for hours.

Uncle Jeggy came to play with us also.

We took a break from swimming to go see a movie (and Sarah and I took a break to shop).
We came back to the resort, swam until dinner time and returned to that Mexican restaraunt for another good meal. Then back to the resort to play in the arcade and then continue the good time in our room. We had a late night, but the kids were champs, hanging in there till midnight.

Sunday morning, we all decided we were swimmed out and we wanted to see the Alice and Wonderland exhibit at the Gaylord, then eat lunch there. Of course, my batteries were dead on my camera, so I don't have any pictures of an awesome exhibit. Lunch was almost as great. After lunch, we told the Gallandars good-bye and headed home.

It was one of those perfect storm vacations where everything lines up, but in a good way. Good location, good fun, good people, good kids, good times!
We've been playing house with the cats. Julio will sit in that stroller forever and be pushed around.
We've also been snuggling with the cats. By we, I mean the children, because although I love the cats, they are wayyy too hairy to love on much in the summer. I am contantly vaccumming up that stuff!
We've been enjoying ice cream in the evening on the back patio.
Ahhhh, summer!
Jaxon's is a little "buzzier" than I like. It's hair, though, it'll grow.
